Removal of Ilizarov Frame from Ankle

This is the third (and hopefully final) instalment of my experiences with an Ilizarov frame on my damaged left ankle. You can read the first two parts here:

My Knackered Ankle – Life With an Ilizarov Frame – Part II

After 12 very slow weeks, I was finally going to get this torture device removed! This was the day I’d been looking forward to for almost 3 months, and finally it was here! Continue reading “My Knackered Ankle – Life With an Ilizarov Frame – Part III”

Civita di Bagnoregio – the Dying Town in the Sky

Civita di Bagnoregio at dawn

You know how sometimes you’re browsing the internet, and you see a photo of somewhere that immediately jumps out at you? This happened to me a couple of years ago, and from the moment I saw this photo of this amazing town sitting perched on a rock, I needed to find out where it was! After some research, I discovered that the image I’d seen was of an Italian town called Civita di Bagnoregio.

I was pleased to see it wasn’t too far from an area in Tuscany that I visit regularly. So on a recent visit to Italy, I decided to pay a visit and find out more about this magical place. Continue reading “Civita di Bagnoregio – the Dying Town in the Sky”

Luxury Weekend Away at Goldsborough Hall Stately Home

A bath with a view

Travelling abroad is great, but sometimes it’s nice to explore places a little closer to home. As my girlfriend lives near York, I often spend time in Yorkshire, but haven’t explored the area as much as I’d like. Short Photography Break in Tuscany – May 2016

Sunset over the Agriturismo Baccoleno near Asciano in Tuscany

One of my favourite places to visit is Tuscany in Italy. The beautiful scenery, great weather, fantastic wines and amazing food mean it’s always a pleasure to spend time there. My first visit was in 2003, and since then I’ve been back a number of times. The amazing scenery makes it a great place to go on a photography trip too.

My last visit was in September 2015 as part of a driving tour, but as it was a short stay I didn’t really have enough time to do any photography. Therefore I decided to return in early 2016, along with camera and tripod, to take some photos.

UberEATS London and Chuck Burger Bar Review

I’ve been stuck at home for the last 5 weeks (see here for the reason why), and tonight I wasn’t in the mood for cooking. I really fancied some takeaway, specifically a burger and chips!. I’ve used Deliveroo previously, but wasn’t overly impressed last time as they took ages to get the order to me. Also they now seem to have a smaller choice of restaurants where I live.

So this time I decided to give UberEATS a try, and see how they compared. They have a good choice of restaurants, and I was glad to see a few burger restaurants listed. Continue reading “UberEATS London and Chuck Burger Bar Review”
